“I felt as if I was singing Rodgers and Hammerstein or Cole Porter.”
— Paul Sorvino, star of the City Center production of Abby's Song.

The original music from Abby's Song, which will be adapted for Shirah of Bethlehem, was composed by the late Elliot Willensky with book and lyrics by Mary Pat Kelly.

Mr. Willensky was the composer, lyricist and music producer who wrote Michael Jackson’s first solo hit “Got to Be There” and the Jermaine Jackson/Whitney Houston duet “If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful."

The following music samples are archival clips from a workshop for Abby’s Song, which had its debut at New York City Center. The upcoming animated adaptation - Shirah of Bethlehem - will feature all-new, digital recordings of these and other wonderful songs from Abby's Song
